It does require a bit of manual effort to fully open the umbrella by pushing it upwards. I think the force is needed, which helps to prevent the fabric from sagging. The fabric is very good and effectively blocks out ultraviolet rays. Even at noon, it's cool under the umbrella.

The sun protection effect of the umbrella is excellent. Under its protection, I have spent many comfortable afternoons outdoors without getting sunburned.
